When
asked about his approach to
photography:
"I have
taken pictures since I was a child.
I think the turning point for me was in
high school when I sneaked my dad's
camera into a concert. When I got my
photos back from the lab I realized I
had obviously done many things wrong. It
made me want to learn how to do it
right. I wanted to know what the rules
were so I could use (and break) them to
my advantage. Over the years I have
learned the difference between simply
taking a picture and creating a
photograph. My goal is to capture
moments. If I have captured a moment,
and done it justice, then I am
satisfied.
A great
musician once said: 'Learn all the
rules, then forget 'em and play!' " |
